Youʻre being very optimistic about travel and times spent at each destination.

Hanoi, in my opinion, is worth at least two days compared to the congestion of Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon).

Itʻs about a 6 hour bus ride from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. That leaves you barely a day and a half to see the sights around Angkor Wat.

Slow down and trim back your itinerary.

Hue is worth more than one full day.
Are you going Da Nang-Hue-Hoi An? That means doubling back as Hue is North of Da Nang.
Also, are you aware that you will need a multi-entry visa if you return to VN?

One full day in Ho Ch is enough beleive me.

my suggestion is stay in Hoi An and they have a beach not far (5k)
Then fly or overnight train to Saigon
do a day tour and that is enou
Go on one of those 2 day tours of the Mekong which ends up at Cahu Doc for the last night and then by river to Phnom Phen.
You really must do the killing feels an old jail at PP

Why fly back to Vietnam again. End you trip there and have extra days at Hue.

From Hoi An you can do lots of things like a mRable Mountain tour and Mys Son.

Just a suggestion but you are wasting many days travelling.

I am about to do my 4th trip of Vietnam and 2nd of Cambodia and I am going up the river from Chau Doc again. Also Battenbang is worth a visit in Cambodia

Forget Mui Ne-try a beach near Hoi An -maybe Lang Co.

I agree with Moosley, Lang Co is superb (stay at the Lang Co Beach Resort, the other two are very dirty !). If not, the 2 beaches of Hoi An are very good also and less isolated

When you arrive back in Ha Noi from Halong Bay, get the overnight train instead of the next day. That will see you arrive in Lao Cai on the 14th December.
Geographically, it's Ha Noi, Hue, Danang then Hoi An.
Get the overnight train from Ha Noi to Hue. Stay two nights.
Then bus to Lang Co Bay. (Lovely beach area see photo )
Then Hoi An for two nights.
Fly to Sai Gon.
Mekong Delta.
Can't advise on the rest.
I would advise three nights in Siem Reap, two isn't enough. There's a lot more than just seeing Angkor Wat.

thanks for all the mostly very useful comments. I made some changes in my trip, less places and for sure more time in angkor wat.
Allways fun to plan a trip and for sure things will change again once I get there.
