Amazon border crossing Brazil to Bolivia
Hello,I hope that someone here can give me some advice about the Amazon border crossing from Brazil to Bolivia.
My plan so far is to cross the border from Brazil to Bolivia around the end of October, using the Guayara-Mirim crossing in the Amazon region. Unfortunately I am a little bit lost concerning onward travel in Bolivia.
I checked various flights from the border crossing to major cities in Bolivia (e.g. La Paz and Santa Cruz), but all were very expensive. So I would prefer to travel by bus.
Does anyone know how travelling by bus is in that region and at that time of the year (start of the wet season)?
I highly appreciate your advice.
Cheers
Tobi

Travelling by bus in this part of world is pure maddens, I strongly discourage you against it.Overland travel between Brazil and Bolivia is not that bad between Corumba-Santa Cruz (bus or train)
If you plan to enter in Guayara-Mirim make yourself a favour and don't be a cheap ass, just fly
TAM is flying for 949 bs that's only $135 to La Paz, how "extremely expensive" is that?
Don't be ridiculous, you will pay similar money for a long distance bus in Brazil!

Thank you all very much.I have not realized that there is a Bolivian TAM, which is not associated with the South American TAM (LATAM) airline.
You are right, prices with Bolivian TAM to La Paz are everything but expensive.
Again, thanks a lot!
Cheers

No problem, sorry for being harsh on you but I just wanted you to avoid the hell ;-) You can fly with TAM to other destinations too http://www.tam.bo/webtam/tarifario.aspxJust be aware that flights are not that frequent from that part of Bolivia

Have fun!
