gracias y adios!
i know this probably isn't the right post for a travel forum but after 5 months in guatemala it's time to move to pastures new and boy am i gonna miss it! never dreamt i would fall so in love with a country! i never experienced any of the security issues so often raised here and have found people nothing less than friendly and ever ready to help (and no not for money or any personal gain, just because!)i haven't needed to post much, as most questions i had i found the answers to hidden in other peoples threads, but when i did need a bit of guidance or advice then the regular guatemala contributors always came up trumps!
this is by far the most entertaining forum on thorn tree i've read! (we're off to kazakhstan next and a sneak peak at that forum is so boring in comparison! no doubt a taste of what to expect there!) so, i'll miss reading the banter although once you have experienced a bit of guatemala then i don't think it ever leaves you so even if i don't get back proper, i'll keep up to speed via thorn tree!
thanks again guys and keep telling it like it is!
adios! :( x

Good luck in Kaz; recently met several Gas drillers who just moved here from Kaz. They liked Kaz better than Pennsylvania.8
That picture was taken on a deserted beach on the Mosquito Coast. They had been sailing for six weeks now on a U-boat replica eddy (he is the Elvis look alike dead center in the picture) had built in his winter home back yard in Gary.http://b-29s-over-korea.com/German-U-Boats-of-WW11/images/12%20TYPE%2011A%20U-BOAT.jpg
He dragged it through the snow and out on the ice of Lake Michigan with a pair of D-9 Cats and in the spring she was ready to go.
Your girl xinloi was sadly the only woman on board thus her dazed look.

Ol' man river, that ol' man riverHe must know something, but he don't say nothing
That ol' man river, he just keep rollin' along
He don't plant 'taters, he don't plant cotton
'Cause them that plants them is soon forgotten
And ol' man river, he just keeps rollin' along
'You and me, we sweat and strain
Body all achin' and wracked with pain
Tote that barge, lift that bale
Get a little drunk and you land in jail
