Increase of taxes

The Sri Lankan government has made the following proposals in their budget for 2013

Airport Tax increased by US$ 10( departure tax, added on to your air ticket price, currently I think its RS 1500), online visa fee up by US$ 5 to US$25 from January 2013 ( and I guess on arrival visa fee will also go up by 5 from 25 to 30)

killing the tourism. will have to go for another option like Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia etc.

AS expected,the war to get rid of the budget traveler continues.SL has stated,they only want the high end tourists.
