Ethiopia three - six month visa

Until recently it has been 1m only on arrival. However recent reports on here seem to indicate that they may be issuing 3m visas if you ask for one. To make sure though I'd get a 3m one in London and then extend in Addis.2
Applying for a 6 month Visa in London would I need to submit bank statements ? How much needs to be in there?3
Three months on arrival for certain countries only (like USA, England and Canada). After that it is month by month at a cost of 20 USD paid in cash. Birr is not accepted as payment so be sure to bring US dollars with you and make sure they are crisp and new. Damaged, dirty, old or torn paper is not acceptable.5
as far as I know you can only renew once and for one monthalso there is no guarantee that you will get a 3 month visa at the airport, most of the time it is 1 month visa they will give you, they you would have to fly out and come back in and maybe try again
ethiopian immigration is notorious for doing exactly the opposite of what you ask them to do, you can try though

Thanks for heads up, I'm going to submit an application for a 6 month visa here in London.8
I know of volunteers who had to leave the country as their visa renewal request was rejected on the second attempt and they went out and came back on a tourist visa. This was sometime this year.I was not aware that one could renew month after month for a tourist visa. But I take it may be that I have old or incorrect information. I'm sorry if I misled anyone.
