New Year's EveHello everybody!
I'll arrive in Glasgow on December 31st and I'm afraid I'll spend New Year's Eve bored and alone. Is there something to do or a place to visit or some interesting something to keep me busy?
Thanks for your advice!

13 very simple options:
1) George Square, big party, probably need ticket to get in, will be very busy and impersonal.
2) Find any smallish pub, socialise with the locals (get a round in!), have the best Hogmanay of your life.
3) Check into a hostel & book onto their organised Hogmanay event - drink, socialise, and party 2012 away with other backpackers.

2Alternatively, as a further option.
4) Splash out on a full evening's entertainment including drinks, dinner and dancing at the WEST Brewery, by Glasgow Green (http://www.westbeer.com/PDF/WEST-Christmas-2012-FINAL-DRAFT-EMAIL&WEB.pdf).

5Glasgow on NYE is great. If you go out for the evening, you won't be bored, that's for sure.
Have a bit of money in your pocket and hit a few pubs. You'll experience a great time.

9Nobody from the city ever says 'Glasgi'
Mmmm OK. However, Please check again....
Would you like some more links? There are lots of them.
In fact more than any references to the so called.... ('Glezz-ga') made up name.
"Nobody" indeed. Perhaps you should go there some time and listen out.

13If you are staying in either of the hostels on Berkeley Street, I recommend the Scaramouche, round the corner as a place with friendly locals. Glasgow folk are friendly.
(and I too have never heard a native say Glasgie or similar. To a weegie it's (approximately) pronounced Glesga - says another born'n'bred.
