BEST hostel in bangkok for a bargain?

Hey guys, I was just hoping you guys would share with me what the BEST hostel in bangkok is, in your opinion. My budget is 10 USD for a single private room or less. Im sure alot of you will come to me with some great stuff because it seems like hostel world and agoda only have the really expensive hostels that require you to buy two beds around $20 or so, As you can tell, sleeping in a dorm scares me and I would like to keep all my valuables preferably.

Most here use either hotels or guest houses. Have you looked anywhere other than hostel world? Even here?

10 bucks if pushing it, for private room, especially if particular about location. internet for that rate will be tough.

where area do you want to stay at?

You can find a place that is cheap but if you must spend money on taxis to get around is it really that cheap in the end?

Not too many private rooms around $10 a night. At $20 per night you will find rooms in this price range with A/C, TV and private toilet/shower. Maybe even free wifi.

Here is one near the Hualamphong Train Station. You can use cheap buses from here or use the subway too.

Hostelworld is rubbish. Try hostelbookers and when it opens, use the 'Sort by' "Private room price (low to high)" option.

They have a good selection under $10 a night, though the earlier booked, the better.

Most places in this price range don't advertise. Just show up and cruise around. You'll find something you're looking for....unless it's around a major holiday. Otherwise, you'll be fine.
