Tuguegarao to Kalinga - Tinglayen

Hi,

I was wondering if flying to Tuguegarao and taking a van to Tinglayen, in the heart of Kalinga area, sounds a sensible way to reach the area.

LP suggests that approach from Banaue... but I think that flying Tuguegarao saves time and adds comfort, even if it is more expensive.

Ideas?

Thanks !

I don't know if you could find a van direct from Tug to Tinglayan, more likely you'd go Tug-Tabuk and then to Tinglayan. You'd have to get an early flight to do it in one day, unless you hire a private vehicle. Road is much better than it was even a few years ago.

I think Riverside Inn in Luplupa is a nicer place to stay than Sleeping Beauty, but it's off the road and takes a bit of walking to get to. Nice walk though, over a hanging bridge and through a village.

Hi,

First flight to Tug from Manila, arrives Tug at 12 or 12.25 noon... Do you think that we can still make it to Tinglayen in early evening using jeepneys or buses?

A hired car with driver would be a possibility also... however, I wonder where to find it...

Do you have a cellphone contact for Riverside Inn in Luplupa?

Thanks.

The number I have for Riverside is 0917 750 1204. Might be outdated, haven't used it in a while. I've asked some friends in Tabuk about last trip schedules and possible hire vehicles, will post response when it arrives.

ok, thanks for the help, I will call him and see the fare... if not, a night in Tabuk is not a tragedy...

A few years ago I stayed in Tabuk. Stayed at a church hotel. The other option was expensive like $35++ and the town was boring. Jeepney departs Tabuk around 6am

Well, in Tabuk there seems to be Davidson hotel at 24 US per night, cheapest room.

However, I might stay overnight in Tuguegarao, if the private car option is too expensive.

Davidson hotel was the only other hotel offered to me in Tabuk.
