Beaches in April
My husband and I like to have one big trip each year. We normally take a trip over spring break he is a teacher. This means we are always cramming too much into too little time. This year, we want to just relax. So, I am looking for the best beach destination for the first week in April. I would rather not do the Bahamas but, other than that, we are up for anything. As long as we can lounge around on a beach for the better part of a week, we are game!1
Welcome, Is there a question in there somewhere?Between the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific around seven southern US states have beaches. Without knowing more about your specific interests and travel priorities we can't really give you any accurate recommendations.
I can pull a rabbit out of a hat and recommend the Gulf beaches in southern Alabama, but I have no idea whether or not that interests you.

Do you have a budget? Where are you traveling from? Have you considered Mexico or Central America?4
Head for Naples, FL6
I can guarantee you that on the East Coast, anything north of Caper Hatteras NC will have very cold water that time of year.Florida comes to mind, but you might also find something nice in GA or the Carolinas.

Average water temperature in San Diego in April is 60 F. It will be colder anywhere north of there.Ocracoke, NC is 59 F.
Hilton Head is 67 F. That's OK for some people, too chilly for others. If you're limited to the US and want to get more than your toes wet, you're limited to Florida and Hawaii.
