Family of 4 having a hard time finding a hotel in bangkok (budgetish)
We're a young family of 4 looking to spend 2 night in Bangkok. Everything on the booking sites seem to be for adults only or 1 child. We don't need a fancy place, clean and safe a pool would be nice (not necessary). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.1
Rambuttri Village Inn, there are several New Siams. All these are in Banglamphu area. Theres a couple of others but their names escape me for now. If I remember, I'll post.3
Contact the hotels directly for a family room. Alternately, book 2 rooms, them email the hotel letting them know you're a family and most will have no trouble putting your rooms together. Some will also have interconnecting rooms. You haven't said what your budget is but Rambuttri Plaza and Hotel de Moc are both fairly large, have a pool and are around $30-40/night which makes getting 2 rooms fairly reasonable. They're both within a few streets of the river (easy transport on the river boats) and close to the tourist sights. If you're more interested in shopping, you might prefer to stay closer to that area.Cheers,

This place may well suit your needs , it's right on Khaosan Rd an area full of young backpackers ..Try and get a room at the rear of the Hotel as these rooms are much much more quieter than the Street facing ones ..
The pool on the roof is a pretty cool place to chill out and have a drink and a snack, i've stayed here a few times and i quite like it ..
Perfect for the first few nights in Bangkok ..

^^ Banglamphu is nowhere near the skytrain which for only 2 nights in Bangkok is indispensable. If you want to be riverside and have skytrain access try the Ibis Riverside (with pool and breakfast) - very reasonable rates and best of both worlds.8
I don't agree that Skytrain access is essential for 2 nights in Bangkok - it depends on what you want to do. If you're shopping then it's very useful, but if you want to visit the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho then I find it more useful to be closer to those sites.Cheers,

agree, taxis maybe cheaper for family travel, though stay clear of rush hour, it's brutal.what is your price range, how old are the kids, and what do you and spouse want to do, with or without the kids, and are the safe to leave at hotel/pool while you sightsee, if they are not interested.
strongely suggest you look at serviced apartments, as an accommodations alternative, as opposed to 2 rooms or the silly prices of extra bed. our daughter can barely pass as 'kid' and we have gone that route, quite satisfied with it. next year it will be all serviced apts. the added space is great. last one was 100+ sq meters, 3 sided balcony and all the necessities. though depending on budget, maybe not cheap.
just noticed, kids 5/8, so won't be leaving them by themselves.
