East Bali - sea kayaking and hiking?

I'm heading to East Bali at the end of December and am planning to spend most of my time in the Amed area. I've got 2 questions I hope one of you can answer.

1) Do any of you know of any nice places on the East Coast where you can rent sea kayaks and just go out exploring for the day?

2) Can you recommend any nice day hikes on the eastern part of the island? I'd be interested in anything that offers coastal or forest scenery, but don't want to do anything that requires a guide.
