beginner surfing, renting for 6 weeks for 6 people
Hi thereWe are a family of 2 adults 4 kids who are coming to the end of a 9 month round the world type trip. We will be in Bali tonight and hope to stay put for 6 weeks. The citeria is :to find a place where the sporty 14 and 13 year olds can learn to surf (have heard there is not much surf there this time of year-but anything for beginners?) and to stay in one place for a while to help costs a bit and chill out/do schoolwork/edit photos etc. Anyone have any ideas of a good place to stay that might fit that criteria? We are open to options but would like to rent somewhere fairly cheap and also where we could go for a jog. Any advice apprecited!! Lastly, a bit up uglified cityscape doesnt do it for us. Cheers!

one of my favorite locations on Bali is the area around Canggu and Echo beach. You are nicely positioned away from the craziness, manic traffic and over populated areas of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak.....although only a 20 min ride on the scooter if you need that type of action.I wouldn't consider Canggu beach a beginners place, but many folks there taking lessons. I rented a Villa in that area for the month of August and was surfing most days and doing some good long beach running / walking when the tide was right.
Take a look and see what you think?
I have no idea what your budget it, but I used this site to book my place - https://www.airbnb.com
check trip advisor for Vacation rentals in the area also.
Local surf breaks and tide information on Bali can be found here - http://magicseaweed.com/Kuta-Beach-Surf-Report/566/
Enjoy Bali :)

There was good surf this afternoon. I have seen surf lessons in Kuta advertised for $25 per lesson.4
Well if anyone still knows of a house to rent in Kuta for 2 weeks 3 mill rupiah or less would be great but hey might as well ask!! Need to be in Kuta unfortunately as it seems to have the best beginners surf at the moment. Any other thoughts appreciated! Thanks
