Places of interest between Bulawayo and Hwange NP

Hi all,

We will be travelling through Zimbabwe next month and although most information is easily to be found on the net, we stil have one question.

Apparently the driving distance between Bulawayo and Hwang NP is appromiximately 6 hours and since we don't need to hassle, we rather not drive that in one single day. However, so far we can't find any places of interest in between Bulawayo and Hwange.

Is anyone familiair with this route? It would be great if somebody could give us any tips for activities/places to see, and a decent place to stay the night somewhere in the middle.

Thanks in advance

Roel

2 1/2 to 3 hours to Hwange NP NOT 6. That will take you all the way to the Falls.

6-7 hrs to the Falls - more usual to stop at Halfway House just before Gwayi or overnight at Hwange Safari Lodge just after Gwayi.

Actually you could break the trip to the Falls with a couple of mights at Sikumi Tree Lodge - GREAT experience though rather pricy.

One of the places I camped in Zimbabwe, Bulawayo was Southern Comfort Lodge's Camp Site... The security is very good as it is on the premise of the Lodge itself. The grounds are well maintained and the ablutions fully equipped. They have power points and we found that a visit to the lounge and bar area in the evenings most enjoyable when we needed to log onto the internet to map our next journey. The Wi-fi is free for all visitors, there is a swimming pool which can be utilised by all and we felt very comfortable there.

Showers are fantastic!
