Self catering south coast

Hi there, I haven't used Thorn Tree before.

We will be in Sri Lanka for 6 weeks from just before Christmas.
I have booked the first few days but wondering about staying
in the Queens Hotel in Kandy for the new year. There is a quite a
costly supplement for this - does anyone know if it is worthwhile?

Also - we want to stay for a couple of weeks somewhere on the south
coast, self catering, reasonable cost (we are just recently retired)
  • any suggestions would be appreciated.

Finally, we were wondering about hiring a car when staying in the
south - is this possible?

Many thanks, Margaret

All most all the hotels are having NY and X’mas supplement.
But no supplement charge from the guesthouses.

From hotel to hotel supplement charges are different.
I think that doesn’t effect on line bookings.

Hikkaduwa is best for self catering at South coast,

Hiring a car is possible any where around country.

Glen Guesthouse which is walking distance to town is a great place that is run by a super nice old couple that I think you might enjoy.
His number is Dean 94 (0)716106997
