Uk visitor visa from ireland

I'm an Australian looking at getting a Uk visitor visa( I overstayed my working holiday visa). I was just wanting to know if it takes long to get processed in Ireland or is it even possible?

You can only apply from a country where you have permission to stay for more than 6 months, so it is unlikely you can apply from Ireland.

I would think the first question they'd ask is "Why do you need a visitor visa when you have already been here over your alloted time... Do you intend to continue working".
Thats the question that you will probebly have to answer.

Your employer may be able to offer you an extended work contract thus making it easier to get a visa extension?

Considering that the OP is highly unlikely to be on a permanent contract and is most likely to be doing temp work I think your suggestion is a non-starter at the best of times, and even more so considering the current state of the employment market in the UK. His employer would need to advertise the job and prove that no suitable people apply for the job who already possess the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions.

Actually this does not apply to visitor visas so you are able to apply from Ireland.

Thanks all, I overstayed my visitor visa 4 yrs ago and now am looking at just coming back to visit family and friends on way back to Australia from Canada.
