Population Census 21 NovemberA National Population Census is to be held on Wednesday 21 November.
According to a flyer from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística, all public offices and private businesses must close, traffic will be restricted, and borders will closed ("cierre de fronteras").
Sounds as though anyone planning to travel on 21 November should consider making alternative arrangements.

2From what I have read, it seems likely there will be no long distance ´buses for 24 hours on 21 November.
This is not spelt out, but the restrictions announced by INE appear similar to those in force on an election day in Bolivia, or even a bit stricter.
This being Bolivia, you never know what last-minute adjustments will be made, but in your place I would change my schedule.

4My current trip ends on Nov 21, where I am planning to bus from La Paz to Copacabana, maybe visit Isla del Sol, then cross the border to Puno to Julica to catch the 8:30pm LAN flight to Lima, and onward home.
While I have the entire day to get to Julica, I'm worried about getting stuck in Bolivia.
Any update would be appreciated!

5As mentioned above international FLIGHTS will not be affected. I´ve seen no further information about land transport, but it´s probable there will be no ´buses.
I suggest you travel to Juliaca on 20 November, to be on the safe side .
In any case, with or without the Census, you were cutting it very fine with flights to catch.

6Thank you for your response Threeshire. Yes, our itinerary is extremely tight (for SA anyway).
We will play it safe and plan for travel to Puno on the 20th instead. (we'll adjust again if we get confirmation that we can bus out on the 21st.)
