Mukdahan to Surin by bus

I know there are quite a few buses from Mukdahan>Ubon daily, and from Ubon>Surin (or you could get the train for this segment) so doing it in 1 day should be no problem. I've seen the BKK>Mukdahan bus go through my GF's home town along Hwy 212, so that must go through Ubon too ...so I doubt there is a direct bus.2
I did it going through Yasothon in a day3
