Visa for Hong Kong Passport Holder

Looking for confirmation that Hong Kong (Chinese) passport holder can enter the country - Cape Verde - "Visa free" for one month.

Also looking for budget accommodation tips in Boa Vista.

Thank you in advance!

Check visa requirements with your airline: I suspect that you would qualify for visa on arrival rather than visa-free entry (although the rules are different if you book accommodation along with your flight).

I'm concerned that you ask about Boa Vista: apart from some resort-hotels there is not much there for the visitor; flights from there to the main islands are very expensive; ferries are of doubtful safety and do not follow any kind of schedule, so returning in order to catch a flight home could be a nightmare. Personally I found an amazingly cheap flight to Boa Vista, but allowed it to go once I realised the problems getting from there to anywhere that would interest me.

Hi!

There are some cheap pensao in Sal Rei like - Boa esperanca (28 euro double with breakfast), Pensao Isabel, pensao da luz (19 euro double room without breakfast).

The return flight to Praia costs around 80 euro.

Have a nice time in CV!

Thanks Emilia (#2), but where do you buy your flights? When I tried to plan a trip, inter-island flights were more like a hundred pounds EACH WAY! Is it possible that you are quoting fares that are not available to tourists?

Hi Voyager

Since you have done a fair bit of research on London-Boa Vista flights, what was the total (including taxes) the cheap tickets you've found?

Thanks!

I haven't done that much research. I found that Thomson were offering flights from the UK to Cabo Verde (Sal and Boa Vista) for about 150 pounds return, flying at short notice. I was about to book, but checked out how much it would cost to get to Mindelo, and that meant the whole thing would not have made sense for me.

I looked at http://flights.thomson.co.uk/en/index.html

There is a flight leaving tomorrow morning for 188 pounds (including tax) although everything else is over 200 pounds. At least these are honest charges: I think the only extra cost is the visa.

Voyager,

I buy my ticket directly from travel agency from Praia (the same price as in TACV office, but service much better :)

Thanks #6. You obviously live there: in some (many?) countries, air fares are lower for residents than for tourists. Could it be that the fares you are quoting are only for residents?

I am the original poster. My Christmas holiday (from London To Cape Verde) came and went. It has been tested, Hong Kong Chinese passport holders can enter the country Visa-free (I didn't have to pay a penny), it took them about 45min to check the rules in the back office to get this confirmed.
