Flying from Columbia to Cancun

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on flying from Colombia to Cancun (or somewhere on the Yucantan Penisula).

Myself and a group of friends are planning on flying from London to Cancun, travelling down through central america to Colombia, and then flying back to cancun to catch the return flight to London 8 weeks later.

My initial search for flights from Bogota to Cancun are costing around 400-500 euro. Just wondering if there are any experienced travellers out there who know of the best way to make this journey, possibly at a price of around 200 euro???

Thanks in advance!!

TACA and Copa are two of the airlines that fly in the region. Both have websites where you can see schedules & fares.

AS #2 says...very unlikely you will get that flight for 200 euros

The price you have found is the normal one....

BTW 8 weeks Cancun to Colombia is pretty fast.

You are going to have to miss out on a lot of interesting stuff, and go fast through others......

On another point...why not buy an open-jaw ticket?

London-Cancun and Bogota-London?

As lucapal pointe out in #5, Why don't you purchase an open-jaw ticket (outbound: London-Cancún, Indbound: Bogotá-London?

If you insist in purchasing a ticket from Bogotá to Cancún, Aeromexico has direct flights among both destinations. If you don't bother to change planes, you can take a look too at TACA, COPA and Avianca.

If you aren't aware of the Darien Gap, make a search about it in order to know how to cross it by surface transport.

8 weeks to traverse 9 countries and the Darien Gap, which will cost 200 euros to cross on a sailboat, 300 euros to fly Panama to Colombia...

Rethink this plan...with 8 weeks, fly back from SJO Costa Rica, tends to be cheap and plentiful flights to EU or Via major US Cities.
