Roatan from Antigua Guatemala Fast!

Hey all!

I am getting married in Antigua, Guatemala next May and all the wedding party is spending 2 weeks. The idea was to spend a week in Guatemala and a week in the Bay Islands. Any idea what the fastest way would be to get there?

We've taken the bus before but would love a slightly quicker solution.

Cheers

Steve

In 2011 we flew from Guatemala City to Roatán (via San Salvador) and back on Taca Airlines.

Taca's good. They serve you real food and treat you like human beings. San Salvador has great duty free shops especially if you like good rum.

Commandeer a bus enroute from Guatemala City to San Pedro Sula, then drive straight through (not stopping at Gran Terminal Metro) to Laceiba, as fast as it will go.

You can take a shuttle to San Pedro Sula and fly to Roatan....but for speed, just fly out of GUA straight to Roatan.

Flying requires a stop over I think in ES.

With a lot of people, try to arrange a driver in a van, and make your own shuttle to SPS and then fly from there to Roatan..flights around 330-430pm. I would fly out Roatan from region, otherwise going back would be a pain in the arse all over again. A 8 passenger van I bet would not be a lot for the day. Maybe $400- $600?
