National parks are run by state governments, not the national government. so the link given by libbyh is for the state of New South Wales. Queensland (where I live) has no fees (but I suspect that the new government will change that when it discovers national parks).4
We Australians are an enlightended mob, and the vast majority of our national parks are free. Indeed, in Victoria for example, they are ALL free as of 2010.http://environmentvictoria.org.au/media/free-entry-victorias-healthy-parks-will-help-make-victorians-healthier-people

free in Queensland too. camping costs money but its really, really cheap. I suppose the issue is that there is no way they could put gates on the parks as the boundaries are just too big. you will pay a fee to visit the great barrier reef though (i think its about $6)
