Good city pairs for scenic half-day or full-day Rhine cruiseI'm fantasizing about a trip to Europe next summer. One day trip I'd like to think about is a short cruise on the Rhine. I don't need to make it all the way from Basel to Rotterdam! A half- or full-day trip through the most scenic part would be fine.
What would be a reasonable set of city pairs for such a trip?
I'm adept at online planning. I will surely have a Eurailpass and I can speak "tourist German" so once I have some ideas I can get wherever I'd need to be to begin and I can manage the rest. I'm always eager to hear all sorts of advice and experience from you all!
Thx in advance.

3We just did this trip from Koblenz to Bingen. This way is upriver so the boat goes slower which is what we wanted. Our trip took 4 days with several stops.but you could do it in a day and get a break ticket from the boat which allows you to get off and on again at your convenience. The scenery is fabulous so plan for as much time as you can,We stayed 1 night in St Goar and 2 nights in Bacharach with shorter visits to other villages. If you like hillside vineyards and old castles it is a must do.
