Karst uncrowded beach?

Hello, friends,

I know this has been already addressed, but things change so quickly that I will dare to ask again. We are a couple with grown-up son/daughter, will be in Thailand mid-end-December. Is there a chance to find a beautiful beach, karst scenery - uncrowned? We love nature, do not dive (may snorkel), would like to have some boat/jungle excursions, and, of course, relax seeing a beautiful sunset. An impossible dream?

Over 17 million tourists visited Thailand last year. Probably more this year. I don't think there is anywhere in Thailand worth going to that tourists have not been to already! If you do find a remote beach area it may not be easy to get there! Tourist money pays for the nice highways and public transportation to get to these beach areas. With only a few tourists visiting these "uncrowded beach areas" you may have fewer choices for accommodation, restaurants, etc. Even if you did locate some remote beach area you may be the richest person on that beach, compared to local villagers! Not to mention that December, especially closer to Christmas and New Years holidays is when you have the MOST tourists in Thailand at one time!

Check this place out. Ko Sukorn. (I have never been to this place. I like having people around, lots of people to talk with, more things to do and easier to get to!)

Most people go to the Krabbie area for that. In south of the Thai peninsular there are Karst hills that would be untouched except for mining.

THIS is what you want ! - picture of Poda Island off Krabi in 1989 . Back then there was only moderate number of people visiting that island and you could get bungalow for 50 baht. Nowadays there may be times of day when Krabi beaches not so crowded , but they quite built up.

Ranong province has miles and miles of deserted beaches. Tourists are expected to exceed 20 million this year by the way.

You will find uncrowded beaches on the Gulf coast. Google Sanawan B & B. You can have the whole beach almost to yourself.
No karst or sunsets though.

Hello, folks,

Thank you for all the help. I will go to Trang. Seems it will be crowded everyplace, but still beautiful.

Cheers
