1Yes you can, but you will not be able to do anything but eat, sleep, and relax every day. Which I think is all you want to do since you are getting over an illness.
Treasure Beach is a great place to relax and chill out.
Take a look here for more info.

2Thanks for that, that looks like a nice place. I saw a some places advertised on the website, £50 is around $75 and that seems to be the cheapest.room cost, oh well.
A few years ago i would have just rocked up and looked around but i can't now, maybe i could stay a month instead of my planned 6 weeks.
Any suggestions on other places that are maybe cheaper? or even another island, i just need good food, a beach and a bar.

4You could do it for $75 a day in Negril. If you are leaving soon, all the better. Most hotels raise the price about December 20. The Christmas week is very expensive. We normally stay at places in the $60 to $75 range, so my recommendations wouldn't help. But others have stayed at the Yoga center, Jah B's and other places which I believe you be able to get for $35 a night or so. You might not even have to look too hard to get a good deal as every taxi driver knows the places to stay and can direct you to something in your price range. The cheaper places are not directly on the beach or the cliffs but across the road. Eat like a local for less than $5 a meal. Puff is readily available, but be carefull.

rooms from $1,000JA a night per person - thats one of the best values that i have ever seen in jamaica

7Twisted sista, how much does it cost to go from MoBay airport to Treasure Beach?
Oct 20, 2012 5:52 PM
it depends on method of transportation, route taxi costing the least, but not the easiest way to go after a long flight,
its been a while since i had a private driver, but i feel confident to say you can find a safe and reliable driver for $100 mobay to treasure beach
and it is also always possible to hook up with other travellers to share the ride ....

9The rate for a "private taxi" for1-4 people from MoBay to Treasure Beach is $120US, however you can bargain for less. You might be able to get a rate of $90US, but anything less is doubtful.
Rooms at Banana Cottage is $22US per day.
There are rooms with shared bath at Shakespear's Cottage for $25US per day.

13You can do that in Port Antonio if you take a day each of your budget for going and returning, via public transportation to the airport, and you are content with simple meals, Ivanhoe's rooms, route taxis to the beaches. This should be possibler with a bit of a buffer. Check past posts dealing with prices and costs in JA, particularly in Portland/Port Antonio. Tight but possible.
