hotel in Bangkok

I was talking to somebody last year who told me they had stayed in a hotel when they arrived in Bangkok that was fairly quite, had pool and was around £25 a day. This is my first trip so before i start researching does that sound doable?

This TA link lists 715 hotels in Bangkok area. Shouldn't take you too long to find your particular hotel.

Good luck.

Try booking.com, limit search to price range 0-39 pounds, 529 hotels in this category, sort on price and other criteria to limit the number of hotels somewhat.
Using your brain might help also.

Check out New Siam II. Clean, in-room electronic safe, pool. Right near Rambuttri and 10 minute walk from Khao San road. About 800 baht per night. 16 pounds.

For someone who has traveled so much you should already know that you can find many hotels in Thailand, even with air conditioning starting from as low as 10 - 12 pounds. Of course you can find a hotel even in Bangkok around 25 pounds or even less. This is around 1200 baht. There are many old posts with hotels even cheaper than this - with A/C too!

Nana Ibis. Close to Skytrain route, easy walk to malls, nightlife, restaurants, etc.

Orchid Group Hotels. (Small places without fancy lobbies, here and there in Nana area, some not far from above Ibis.)

Swiss Park, Maxim's Inn, Bangkok Inn, President Inn, Business Inn, Suk 11 Hostel, Soi 1 Guest House and many others in the same Sukhumvit Nana area. Many other places you can discover by walking around.
