Boat from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales

Has anyone taken the Navimag Ferry from Puerto Montt to Natales this time of the year? I have heard mixed opinions about this journey mostly nightmare weather stories. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Or if anyone wants to potentially join I'm a 31 year old solo guy from Colorado, US. I'm thinking of making the journey in about two weeks from now. Cheers!

I like this ferry trip, it is a good sample of patagonian fjords and channels, the less known Patagonia, about the "nightmares" it is only the first night, crossing Gulf of Penas, as the people is used to the mild sea at the channels suddenly the ferry enters to open sea and the westerly wind move the ship , that is all, no more than a Channel crossing between Dover and Calais in a windy day. A tip, don´t drink alcohol or heavy meals that night
to enjoy the journey try to read some books in this area, as FitzRoy or Darwin´s Journals or Voyages or some books on the Wager wreckage p. e. from Peter Shankland or John Byron

We did this trip as part of a five week holiday in Southern Patagonia in February this year. We saw some amazing sights throughout the holiday but the ferry trip beat them all. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Can thoroughly recommend it.don't know about weather in October though.
