Applying for Russian visa from another country to your ownI am due to travel to Moscow on September 5th and need to apply for the visa, which would be pretty straight forward except I'm not going to be back in the UK before then.
My intention is to go in person to either the Madrid or Paris Russian Embassy and try to get a same day process. Has anybody ever done this previously? if so is there anything additional to the standard paperwork that needs to be taken with me?
I'm being sent there as part of my travel project: www.cmoa.co.uk - where followers suggest destinations then vote for a new country each month. i then travel to the place and do whatever they tell me to once there. From Moscow I'll be taking the Trans Siberian to China so would welcome any tips on either of these too.

1If you're a UK passport holder and can't prove residency of more than 3 months in either France or Spain then you won't get a Russian tourist visa in either country.
You could send your passport back to the UK and have an agency process your application, not sure if that's a practical option for you.

3I can agree with your comment about contacting the consulate you intend to apply to, however it must be said it's not uncommon for them to be unresponsive. But there is of course a very good reason why you did not apply for your Russian visa in the country you reside which you neglect to mention.......there is no consulate in Fiji.
I could be wrong but I suspect that there may well be some kind of agreement where Fiji residents can apply via Australia.

4You are right. Fiji does not have a consulate and that's the reason why Russian consulate in Canberra is accepting me...
