Currency exchange.

I know this question has been asked many times before, and has been answered many times before, but I thought it worth asking again now due to the current ecnomic climate in Iran.

What is the best currency, if there is one to take to Iran (out of GBP, EUR, USD) to change into Rial? Is there any benefit in have USD over say EUR or GBP. I live in the UK at the moment, so for my trip, which arrives on the 26th of October, it would be easier to take GBP, but I read stories about USD being valued much more. I am not sure. Any advice anyone?

Thanks for your advice both of you. One more question which I think is probably silly of me...but what is the difference betwen Rial and Toman?

One toman is 10 rials, and all prices in Iran are always quoted in toman although official currency is rial; hence whatever you see on Iran banknotes with all those zeros is rial denomination. So, for example, if an airport cab driver quotes a fare of 30,000 tomans from IKA to city center/your hotel, he is really asking for 300,000 rials ... pay attention to all zeros on Iranian bills to make sure you don't get ripped off by unscrupulous money changers, merchants and cab drives!

Well that is good for me I suppose Amir, but not very good for your economy.
