November 2 is NOT a public holiday in Italy. All Saints' is, All Souls' isnt, as a religious holiday it will be held in churches the following Sunday. Therefore, unless offices or schools decide to close because it's a Friday, shops and workplaces will be open as usual.The link quoted in #3 refers to Rome only, and not all the holidays in there are valid in other parts of the country. I live in Lombardy and November 2nd is a workday for most people with even most schools open.
