Sudanese visa in Sanaa

Hello Yemen watchers,

I'm a British national living in Southern Yemen (with a residency permit) and am wandering if any one on Thorntree (Yemeni or otherwise) has had any experience obtaining a tourist visa at the Sudanese embassy in Sana recently.

So far I've been unable to reach embassy staff via phone to make inquiries and I live some distance from the capital/work full time so poppin' in for a quick chat isn't really an option either.

When I applied for it Kampala last year no travel proof was required and the visa was issued next day. Pretty easy stuff but Addis was another story entirely. Therefore any idea on processing time and travel documents would be greatly appreciated.
