Somewhere around 1,000 people who now live in South Florida but were born, or their parents were born, in Cuba. It sounds incredible that so few people should have such influence but due to unique circumstances, they are the tipping point in many political decisions including the election of the PresidentSuch a concise and accurate an explanation of the situation, Bob, that it needs repeating. It should have to be written one thousand times on the blackboard by those foreigners who instead assess guilt to the entire country and all of its citizens. They are either just flat ignorant of the simple circumstance you so eloquently describe or so inflicted with zealousy that they can't let go despite the ridiculousness of their absurd postulate.
I personally think the embargo has kept the regime in power
I personally think you are absolutely correct in your thinking, jacpan.

Bob, many thanks for your UP TO DATE info. As almost all of us "regulars" have learned the hard way, what was true on our own most recent trip three, six, or twelve months ago (let alone that many years ago), may NOT be true today. So it pays, when responding to reports on changes, for the poster to let it be known WHEN his or her personal experience dates from!17
Good point, Rosa. It would be interesting and informative to know when posters were last there. Chef doesn't count because he is always there...........jejeje. Bob falls into that category as well. A lot of other posters, however, seem to depend more on google than any personal, or current, experiences.ADVERTISEMENT
