What is the best way to get to Kinabatangan river from Sandakan?
And how long does it take roughly?Also, how touristy in Sandakan?

Sandakan is not very touristy at all.If you walk around the centre of town you might see one or two foreign tourists,or none at all...depending on season.

Not cheap, but allowed me to visit Labuk bay before getting to Sukau.

Not sure there is a direct bus from Sandakan to Sukau. You might take a bus from Sandakan to Lahad Datu and get off at the junction to Sukau, then take one of the shared taxis to Sukau which usually are waiting there.ADVERTISEMENT
