Aix en provence

Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone will be able to give me some good ideas and help em out a bit.

Basically, my mum has come to stay with me in Aix en Provence for the weekend. I've not been here long, only a few weeks, so I dont know the area completely well either yet...but well enough, and I have a car

So I was wondering whether anyone could give me some ideas of what to do tomorrow. I don't mind driving an hour or so to different villages/areas/landscapes etc, but not much more as we will want to come back for dinner in Aix in the evening.

So I've done a bit of research, and didnt want to really spend the whole day in aix doing museums etc as we have Sunday to do that, I dont think she'll want to do any hiking or crazy amounts of walking...but it would be lovely to know of a great spot for a picnic or a chilled little walk around to see some interesting sights etc.

So if anyone has any ideas, it would be great to hear them.

Also, I dont really think Marseille is an option just incase anyone is going to mention that, and Ive already been up Mt St. Victoire

Thanks :)

Yes, actually there is a place not too far from Aix-en-Provence. And since you have a car, you can drive to a place called Les Bonfillons and when you get there just a little bit south of it there is a huge lake. Outskirts of that lake has really cool place to picnic and walk around. And not to mention great view. Your mother probably would enjoy that a lot. Try Les Bonfillions. You would like it and it's quiet as well. It's not too far from you at all. Good Luck!

Ahh, is that Barrage de Bimont? Or is that a completely different place?

No, not exactly a completely different place, but you'll have to come down the hill a bit towards south when you park your car in Les Bonfillos. What are you doing in that area anyways? Are you traveling or studying?

This lake is called 'Lac de Bimont', north-east and 10km far from Aix on the road D10 to Vauvenargues and of course there is also the Barrage before the Verdon cross the next lake called Lac Zola.
