Cheap, but reliable flight Mumbai to Kochi

Hi,

I am considering flying as the way to set off on our little holiday in India, and am looking at a 1-way from Mumbai to Kochi (or somewhere else in the south, pref in Kerala, if somewhere else makes more sense to my more experienced Thorn Tree colleagues): we arrive on British Airways on 22 December in Mumbai at 11.45 in the morning - would like to get going that same afternoon.

Any suggestions?

Note it's high season. Prices would be fairly expensive. Book asap.

1) Spice Jet, coming up to INR 8688 (expensive but you may not find anything cheaper). And the departure is tight: it leaves at 2:50 pm. https://book.spicejet.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi
But I'd say take a flight a little later.

2) Air India: https://book.airindia.in/itd/itd/DoAirSearch Pricier byut gives a bigger margin of safety

3) More here : http://flight.yatra.com/flights-india-yt/dom/flight/search?type=O&viewName=normal&scope=dom&flexi=0&noOfSegments=1&flight_depart_date=22/12/2012&ADT=1&CHD=0&INF=0&class=Economy&origin=BOM&destination=COK&null
(esp look at GoAir)

What ansh says ...

Spice Jet, or Jet Airways or Air India ... book now, the prices only go up. They all have online booking. Your two options are, basically, Kochi or Trivandrum - depending on where in Kerela your going.

Oh your title says "reliable". Avoid Kingfisher- they're ordered to stop selling tickets, but even if you somehow find some tickets, avoid them. Kingfisher has been in a financial crisis- and it just continues on.

Keep an eye out for Air India too.

I would recommend Jet Airways, I've always found them to be very reliable.
