Nightlife in Vietnam

Hi there

I will arrive in Vietnam on Dec 20th and leave on Jan 8th.

The goal for this vacation is just to relax during the days, enjoying the weather and food and having good nightlife experiences. I was told that HCMC and Nha Trang are the destinations with the best nighlife, whereas there is not much to do after midnight in the North. Can anyone confirm that? And where can I get the best parties in Vietnam?

Thanks,
Nico

you can totally enjoy night life in hanoi with lots of night markets, in which Dong Xuan night market is a famous one. it opens from Friday to Sunday.

Sorry for the confusion. :)

I'm not talking about night markets, I would like to know the best destinations for bars, clubs etc. that are crowded until early in the morning.

Stick with HCMC-more options.

As mooslie stated: HCMC has the most options.
NT has a few bars that stay open a little later, the Sailing Club being the best known.
(Can't stand the place myself, possibly being in my 50s doesn't help).

Only if I get membership number one.
And I do not want to chair any meetings.

Can I join the club? We can hold the meetings next door to SC at the Louisiana
I can act as club treasurer. I will be sure to look after the membership fees
Affiliated members of "can't stand Why Not club" could also attend

gwapo, like Judas..looking after the bag?
Could be worth a lot because most expats in Nha Trang hate it! I guess they understand that SC charges about 10 times what things are worth. Excessive greed and then screwing the staff down below the bare minimum doesn't help the SC cause.
Also ripping off the tips from the staff doesn't go down well.

gwapo: is your shorthand any good? We will need somebody to take the minutes. Though I expect them to have a similar theme. (Boring, repetitive loud music, over-expensive, etc)

Would low class & crass apply as well?
SC is Vietnam's monument to G-R-E-E-D!
