KL to Thailand in Nov for 1 Week!! Help.

Hello, I will be flying over to KL in November and heading my way to Thailand. I only have 1 week there so would want to make the most out of it.

I plan on going to Koh phi phi, Phuket, and Bangkok for sure.. But is that realistic for a week (including traveling time)??
It's my first time traveling in general so I'm completely unprepared :(

Any suggestions on places to see or things to do would be much appreciated!! I know parasailing is a must for me so hope the weather will be fine for mid November. Also, how much $ should I expect to spend out there to just do some water activities, eat and stay at hostels?

What sort of $?
let's talk baht - you need about 1000 baht/day for hostel and eat (you can survive on about 100 baht /day just for food if you have to, but its not pretty).
I would spend 3 days BKK (shop/sight seeing) then head to Phuket by air to save time.. Do a day tour of PP and spend 2 days exploring Patong (bad place, but convenient), water activities etc.
Head back to KL.

7 days, done and dusted.

I'd get an Air Asia flight to Phuket. Do that as well as Phi Phi then head to Bangkok before going back to KL.
Besides hostels, also have a look at some of the cheaper guest houses.

But realistically, with such a short time and travelling involved, your wish list is going to make for a very rushed trip. You're going to have to fly, after all, there are several long sectors involved.

If it's a mixture of city life and Beach that your looking for then you could do worse than say splitting your time in between Say Bangkok and Koh Chang ...

Couple of days in Bangkok then catch a Bus to Trat , ferry across to Koh Chang couple of days or so on Koh Chang then back to Bangkok for a last night of eating and drinking ..

I think that your original idea is to much to fit it in comfortably in your time constraint ..

Yes, but you won't have time to enjoy it. Better off just 2, and perhaps a day trip to P P.

Hi,

"Is that realistic for a week (including traveling time)??"

No,

TBL says yes then gives the very reason why I say no. If you just want to travel then do it. If you want to enjoy then change your plans. The journey should be part of the holiday where possible, not just at all times a means of getting from A to B.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the advice.
Ok, so I obviously did not plan this out thoroughly.. My friend who convinced me this was doable probably wasn't really thinking on my time constraint :(

Soo.. I really have no clue what I should do.. Koh phi phi and Bangkok are probably the 2 destinations I will go to?

Nov 16 I land in KL (1am) and really don't plan on staying there.. Possibly just for the day and trying to transit to koh phi phi?
On the 23 I will be meeting a friend in Ho Chi Minh but have not even planned how'd I get there.. Sigh..

Things are not going according to plan at all.. Can someone assist with my itinerary with the limited duration of my trip? And so I be booking my flights in advance or wait till I arrive in KL? Is there no train that runs through to Thailand?

I honestly just want to do parasailing as the rest of the activities I can skip out on. As a newbie traveller I really don't know what I would expect.. I'm definitely not the type of person to lounge at a beach all day.. Yea sure, architectural buildings would be nice but my main objective would be to experience the culture and fit in time to see at least 1 temple.

Please help! I have less then a month before I fly out to Asia :((

There is a train to Thailand but it involves getting to Butterworth then taking the International Express that leaves mid-afternoon. It goes nowhere near Phuket or Krabi where you could take the boat to Phi Phi. For you, it would eat into the little time you have.
And now you have to be in HCMC by 23rd so time is even tighter. Get booking those cheap flights now as prices will only go up. Have a look at Air Asia.

I would presume you are more likely to get that on Phuket than P P.
Just getting to P P takes half a day, so that's a whole day just sitting on a boat.

Very little Thai culture on P P. Temples on Phuket.

IMO just fly to Phukit and stay there for the week. Do a day trip to P P.
