Renting motorbike for 1 month in Phuket

Hi everyone, i want to rent a fairly new, automatic, 100-150cc, motorbike in Phuket, for 1 month. I am willing to go to Kata, or Karon, or Kamala to rent it to save on Baht, i will be staying in, or around Patong, but i realize maybe cheaper to rent the bike outside Patong. What price on a monthly arrangement do you think I can find in November? Thanks

Whatever you get and wherever you get it, do NOT leave your passport as security. Despite all the warnings, there's still a current scam story doing the rounds as we speak..

Why would you want to spend an entire month only in the Patong area? If you need to save some baht maybe choose a cheaper city to stay in. If you like Patong visit Pattaya. Same thing as Patong but bigger and cheaper. Local transportation only 10 baht too!

Yeah, don't give up your passport or you may have a problem with imaginary damage the owner discovers on the bike. You do know that to legally drive you should have an International Drivers License. Some places will rent without an IDL but you are at fault in an accident. An accident while riding a bike is a top killer of tourists in Thailand.

I'd think that renting in Phuket Town would be cheaper than a touristy place and less likely to give you ripoff issues, but could be wrong.
