Help needed to get from Trabzon to Urfa (Sanliurfa)

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice. I'm currently in Batumi. I plan on traveling to Trabzon tomorrow (Sept 29). I wanted to see the Sumela Monastery, then head straight for Urfa. I am meeting colleagues in Urfa on Oct 2, and I need to be in Urfa before noon on that day. I have tried online to find buses and see routes and timetables between Trabzon and Urfa and I am having a difficult time making sense of the information. Ideally. I would like to see the Monastery on Sept 30, and travel on Oct 1. An overnight bus is fine. I can even leave on the evening of Sept 30, as long as I can get to Urfa on time. Does anyone have any advice or knowledge of the buses that can help me out? Is my plan reasonable?

Thanks

For this 13 hour journey you can go with-
Adıyaman Gülaras Turizm at 13.30
Öz Diyarbakir Turizm at 15.30
Has Bingöl Turizm at 16.00 or 18.00
The cost is 70TL.The 13.30 bus would see you arriving early afternoon plus you would see at least some of the lovely scenery on the way.The later buses would see you there around 05.00 ...not such as good time to arrive :)

Contact Volkan at Eyce Tours in Trabzon. He speaks reasonable English and is a wealth of knowledge. Each day Eyce tours run a half day tour to the Sumela Monestry if you are interested plus any other questions that you have Volkan or his colleagues (if they speak English) should be able to help with.

The office number is 462 326 71 74 (I'm not sure if you need the 462 area code dialed from where you are but sarikanarya can confirm that). Eyce Tours office address is just off the main city square at İskenderpaşa Mah. Taksim İşhanı Sok. No:11/1 (Sağıroğlu Otel karşısı) Merkez TRABZON

My inability to understand Turkish and to navigate the bus websites meant I got duped into taking a Metro bus all the way. It took 25 hours instead of 13. Oh well, live and learn. At least I saved money on accommodations for a day.
