looking for a clean budget guest house in Hong Kong
Hi,I will be in HK the last week of Dec, 2012. I'm looking for a budget (under $50 US if possible) place to stay in Kowloon - around mongkok / jordan area. Any suggestions? thanks; happy travels.

Christmas is not a particularly busy time in Hong Kong. However, if you want to stay in a certain place, it is wise to book in advance. If you are happy to find a place when you get here, then I don't think there is a need to book. In that area of Jordan where Hakkas GH is located, there are other similar places as well.5

Hollywood Guesthouse: A1, 14/F Block A, Chungking MansionWhile Chungking is an excellent location, some would question the wisdom of staying in Chungking, especially Block A.

Folks question the wisdom of staying in Chungking Mansions because it's widely considered a firetrap.8
Thanks for the info. I guess Chungking Mansion may ok for 1 night or 2. But I'm staying 4-5 days, I'll look elsewhere. I came across Star GH and Lee Garden, looks like they have the same owner. Anybody stayed there recently?
