Clockwise or Counter Clockwise Travel Through SE Asia

Hi!

We're planning to spend two months (I know, not enough time but it's all we have!) traveling through SE Asia. We're going to start in Bangkok, then circle the mainland area (Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos), then back to Thailand and down the peninsula.

Does anyone have any recommendations on traveling from Bangkok either up to Laos and around clockwise or doing the reverse? Is there a preferred route?

Thanks!

North Thailand and Laos it gets a bit chilly in Dec and January. Cambodia and South Thailand on the other hand can be dreadully hot in March, or maybe even second half of Feb.

Since you don't mention when you plan on starting your trip I doubt anyone can give you any specific advise. Both ways are nice.

After doing both, 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

We're going from January-February (sorry I didn't mention this!)...it sounds like going counter clockwise would be better for the weather (thanks, Albin_2!)!

No, go clockwise, you'll get dizzy if you go the other way.
