Tour to Merzouga desertHi everyone,
I am planning to go toMorocco with my girlfriend from the17th of October till the 26th. During my visit we want to make a tour at Merzouga (3 day tour from Fes then Mezourga and finaly Marrakesh) in order to "taste" the desert experience and to do camel trecking. From a google search that I made I saw that there are a lot of local agents that organize excursion like this but I am not sure if they are reliable (afraid the case that there are a scam/fraud)
Do you know any reliable agent for this kind of excursion which you can suggest to me?
In general the plan of our trip is the following:
17 - 19 October : Fes (Straight from Casablanka airport)
19 - 21 : Merzouga - Ouarzazate (we want to make the excursion for which I am asking you - Marrakesh - Merzouga - Marakesh):
25: Casablanka (24 night at Marrakesh and we will take the morning train to Casablanka)
Do you have any suggestions ? (till now only the air tickets are booked and the hotel in Fes)
Thank you in advanced

1As soon as you will reach Merzouga and you will find a hotel ask there...I have just returned and I couldn't belive in such option so I have tested some companies via internet to estimate what price is resonable. I have suggested the lowest level to the boss in the hotel and after discussion he agreed.
People there are Berbers not Arabs so in my opinion everything is easier than for ex. in Marrakech.
BTW: Visit Petit Prince hotel as an option to stay there.

2Alex, you not need be "afraid the case that there are a scam/fraud", the people there are to trust.
Only what is pity there is that there are touts and unfortunately it happens that they mislead tourists who then end up where they not wanted to go. I read not long time ago one report from some Germany people who trusted one man which promised to take him to his hotel. But, he took him to one other, and was fast driving away so this Germany had no choose and needed to stay over at that hotel. And paid double so much than he would done if he could be there he booked the room.
So if you book for example in advance, be aware of all the touts.
Otherwise, do you know what all you can see between Fes and Marrakech? So 3 days trip between those cities is not so much, if you can make a better itinerary, it would be great.

3Piotr, I remember now our discussion about souk in Rissani, do you remember? http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2236627&start=15
I wrote that one quite big part of souk is open every day and 3 times in week is open everything incl. souk with animals and vegetables.
Can you say to us how it was, if you was visiting there?
