I never thought if it was going to be that way!!

Yes!
I and my friends returned on Monday from 4 days safari with Kibo Adventure. we visited Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro crater and end with fantastic hot swim at Chemka spring to our last day. What make this trip unique is comparison of what we paid and what return we got!!

I know what many people believe when you pay less to any East African safari, especialy Tanzania companies. So many review with horrible experience in LP forum and it worth to learn but with my experience? A' m mute!!

My friends and I read good reviews about Kibo Adventure here in LP and we had a plan for safari at the end of september so we decided to write to them and that is how whole thing started. It is a good thing that we are volunteers (from Sweden) because they asked.

Thanks to Renalda, a manager of Kibo Adventure for advice and arrangement of fantastic 4 days safari with unbelivable price of $ 97/ person a day!! We camped at heaven nature campsite trough out our safari and we loved the place and probably we will do another safari next year and recommend heaven nature but with Serengeti. Delicious food, clean rooms and toilet was something great than what we paid. Our guide was knowledgible with funny stories of "Pumba" and he understand a lot about animals and for a someone like me who have never did safari before, was a good welcome to the world of adventure.

I recommend this tours company and ask a manager for your safari advice because she was very helpful to us.

Cheers!!

Hello Jen,

We were six people and exactly minimum number needed for such kind of safari. I guess they have special offers for volunteers and according to a manager, they are doing research to discover more interesting places for volunteers as they strongly believe that volunteers deserve something special as an acceptance and appreciation of contribution they have to the development of Tanzania people. In one of their e-mails they said they charge as little as possible for volunteers because they only want us to be happy and feel honored for what we are doing. We truly love this company .

If you are doing volunteer activities anywhere in Tanzania, I suggest to contact these guys if you have safari plan and hear what they have for you. I pretty sure you will love them too!!

I don't understand how it can be this cheap. With park fees around $50 and camping fees much the same - are they driving and feeding you for free?

@ wigstan?
With my fingers crossed, your question is very hard to me but we got all service needed. Food, water, nice accommodation services and our jeep was more professional with opening roof and we had fantastic animal view. I wish I could do safari more and more!

With park fees (50usd per person) + Crater Fee (200usd per jeep), it already amounts to 500usd for just Ngorongoro Crater. How did they manage to pay for the fuel, not to mention other park fees for all the other National Parks?

I am not trying to position my self on someone professional but they might have reasons of setting a minimum number of clients. What I have learned from LP is this that when someone got a group to join for safari is likely to pay cheap because they share the costs. It is true that crater is 200$ per vehicle now think of dividing it to 6 people. Transport and fuel the same thing...... but you can try them to witness this!!

Now why do I feel uncomfortable about someone who registers on TT and then immediately posts such a glowing advertisement for a tour operator? Because I was born a sceptic and something tells me that this is not above board. Bluntly - I suspect that this is an advertising troll.

Msweden - in my country, saying that your "fingers are crossed" means you are telling lies.............

And if we do the math...
6 people for 4 days á 97 USD pp/day = 2328 USD - 500 USD as mentioned above by Luciamame, leaves 1828 USD left for other parks, fees and food.. Is that impossible?
Just wondering out of curiosity.
What would you have to pay?

Goood!!!! Thank you wigstan!!! So what do I have to tell you lie? What that for? Until we travelled with this company, is for review we got here in LP. It is painful to express what you got and experienced but later somebody count it lie "I would like to understand more what kind of a human being you are wigstan" You are quick to to judge and I don't think if you that you are right.

Scabbedsait, Your post has convenced me to write to this company and ask them few questions and I promise if they will answer my mail I will straight post it here.

hajis, as how things go in my country, everyone pay tax even by eating food alone and so I believe in Tanzania. It is shame to say company doesn't pay tax while you know you can not enter any park without paying entry fees, accommodation services owners pays hotel levy! Getting into the park, safari vehicle, guide and even cook pays entry fee.

I am not sure if you have been in Tanzania but police are nearly every major road especially from Arusha to Makuyuni (and Lake Manyara/ mtu mmbu??) and we police in snake park they checked us and peacefully they asked us to continue. Why do I say all these? If they do not pay taxes I guess we could get in trouble!!

RudiK, I don't believe avery one posting in forum are longly registered. What about those asking for safari advice for the first time? Good for you that you have posted 4,639 items or whatever! But what was your first post? I'm not sure, but I think you had something to share!

I am apologizing to Kibo Adventure for all negative comments people posted here but strongly I believe your reputation will always stay.

Msweden - I merely point out that anyone who says they are "crossing their fingers" when they are telling you something means that they are telling lies. I'm a helpful human being Msweden. I'm trying to suggest its possibly not the best phrase to use when you are trying to convince people of anything. Possibly what you meant to say was "cross my heart"......now that does mean I'm telling the truth. And if you said "cross my heart and hope to die".....why then we would have known you were swearing the truth!

No! No! No! this is not fear at all!!! I 'm not agree with negative posts. My friends Carolyn and Joe travelled with Kibo Adventure and they posted their grateful to the company's testimonial page http://www.kiboadventure.com/index.php?p=1_9_Testimonials what you are judging is not fear at all!!! and I agree with Msweden "Kibo reputation will remain" and as just suggestion? if you think you know much, you better learn because you do not know yet! I prefer to wait an e-mail that Msweden sent and we will all know the truth.

Cheers!

"RudiK, I don't believe avery one posting in forum are longly registered. What about those asking for safari advice for the first time?"
That is exactly what makes me wonder, Msweden. Your first post was not to ask any kind of advice, nor was it to respond to someone who is requesting advice - which are the usual ways people start on Thorn Tree. Instead it was to give an unsolicited testimonial for your favourite tour operator. As you noticed I registered on TT some years ago and I have been a regular poster for most of the time since then. During that time one sometimes comes across this type of advertising/touting and it always sets off alarm bells.
Scabbedsait, Your post has convenced me to write to this company and ask them few questions and I promise if they will answer my mail I will straight post it here.
Your writing to this company and posting their response here would not be of any help to dispel my doubts or the doubts that others might have. All it would do would indicate to me that you are in some way connected to the company and are touting for business on their behalf.

Ok, Im putting my head and reputation on the line here.
To prove that Msweden isnt a BSer and not a fake, I have just written him a personal message in Swedish since he claims he is a volunteer from Sweden.
I am Swedish as well and if he replies in Swedish I would rely that what he has posted is true.
And if he doesnt reply to me at all... well then I guess we know the truth.
Seems fair?

Then if the company pay tax or not is another thing and is not for this forum to analyze.
