Omo Valley RELIABLE driverI'm a documentary photographer and together with my assistant I'll be travelling around the Omo Valley next week (Oct 4th - Oct 15th 2012). We are looking for a reliable driver able to show us the most authentic Omo villages. Better if he speaks the dialects.
We were planning on flying from Addis to either Jinka or Arba Minch. What would you advise? Would it be easy to find a driver once in the south?
Thanks a lot!

1You cannot fly to Jinka, only Arba Minch. three times per week
check this link for recommendations for an Addis driver/tour operator who has experience working with photographers (like Chester Higgins of New York Times)
he has a Turmi based assistant who speaks Hamar language

4I recommend a man named Asfaw Aynalem. I was staying at Dinsho lodge and was lucky enough to meet a professional photographer that had hired Asfaw to take him to the Omo Valley after Bale National Park. I was invited to join them on the Saneti Plateau and so spent a day and a night with the photographer and Asfaw. Asfaw is very friendly and speaks good English. He is a native Hamer and so speaks the language, as well as quite a few other languages spoken in the south Omo. Being from the region, he can show you places that some of the larger tour companies don't go. I just did a quick google search and found other positive reviews of Mr. Aynalem and his company. You can reach him through this site: www.hamernasiethiopia.com
If you'd like to see the pictures my friend took in the south Omo, have a look at his site: guycolborne.photoshelter.com
Best of luck to you!
