Traveling to Thailand second half of October weather wise...
Hi,I'm 26 years old traveling to Thailand from 12th oct. to 31st oct. I'm really worried about the weather as I red everywhere that October is the rainiest season of all.
I would like to visit the north but for me the real fun is diving I heard that koh Tao and koh phi phi are the best spots, but again the weather worries me, I wouldn't like to spend my days on the island under heavy rain.
Any advise would be welcome, as I'm considering buying the plane ticket today....

There are a few resident dive instructors on this forum who can probably give the best info, but my experience has been October is not a good dive month in Thailand. Sure it might be sunny sometimes but thunderstorms are also common.See http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province_stat.php?StationNumber=48550

Of course I would prefer coming during the dry season, but I have a small window of opportunity to visit Thailand so October is my only option.8
HiKoh Tao, you still can go till mid October it's will be fine.
but Phi Phi still not the best time to visit there , should do in November - May.
If you need the bestest diving it is in Similan Islands :)

I left Koh Tao about a week ago... had 6 days of constant sun, but then the storm clouds arrived so we ran off to Krabi, where we have had a week of beautiful, uninterrupted sunshine. There are very few tourists around, the rooms are an absolute bargain (less then 50% of high season prices). When it rains it is usually for a few hours, although a few weeks ago we had 4 days constant rain in Chiang Mai and 3 days almost constant rain in KohPhaNgan... however it was beautiful after it finished as we appreciated the sun even more!
Regarding sharks... there are now bull sharks at Sail Rock in Koh Tao :) We were told that the rain wouldn't interrupt diving too much but we didn't dive so can't comment.
