Baltics in a week!?Hi there,
A friend and I thinking of doing a whistle-stop tour of the Baltics in November. At the moment we plan to fly into Tallinn, have a couple of days there, then bus to Riga, a day or two there and then another bus to Vilnius for a few days before flying home.
I've read many mixed reviews of Riga, is it worth a visit or is there somewhere else en route we should consider going instead? Daugavpils maybe?
We have no specific plans, it would be great just to mooch around and soak up the atmosphere. We are both fit and active so would be keen to do something more adventurous while we're away if anyone has any suggestions?
Sorry to be so vague, this is a part of the world I know very little about, so any hints or tips will be gratefully received!
Thanks in advance

That's quite apparent from the fact that you posted this on the Western Europe branch ;-)
Better re-post on the Eastern Europe branch - but then include more information about your interests, why you are concerned if Riga may not be worth it for you etc. A week sounds like a bit extremely rushed to visit 3 countries, btw.

2For me 2 days was heaps in Tallinn - pretty walled town, with some different stuff outside the walls.
Bus to Riga stopped in Parnu, and I left my luggage there to suss out whether to stay - 2 hours walk was enough for me.
Riga 2 nights - 1 day in the city, and late afternoon at Jurmula, and other as day trip by train to Sigulda, 1 hr from Riga.
That was my whistle stop trip.

3ha ha ha, thanks Aribo. I managed to post the message in the Andorra thread initially so I'm getting closer although technology is still defeating me!
Thanks also Ked999, much appreciated.
