Big Bend, Marfa, White Sands... Camping in December? What kind of weather might I expect? Thx!

WE camped at Big Bend two years ago in December - lovely warm weather. Great time to hike around this area as it is not too hot - what I call t-shirt weather.

November thru April is the only reasonable time to be down there. Otherwise it's way too hot. It can get as high as the 80's in the day and cools down quite a bit at night, as low as the 40's.

The lower areas of Big Bend will be fine, but it can get quite cool to cold at night in the Chisos.

Agree with others - good time to go. I always did my camping in Big Bend in winter - brutally hot otherwise. At higher elevations it will get cold (Chisos Mountains and parts of New Mexico).
