Who wants to get together for Safari in March 2013

Hello people, after an internship in Nairobi that ends on the 8th of March, I´ll have more than a week left until my flight leaves on the 17th. I really want to use this time for travelling the beautiful country, but since travelling in a group is not only cheaper but most of all a lot more fun, I´m looking for fellows :)

Basically I´m open for nearly every destination, so we could plan everything together.
Anyways, I was thinking about going on Safari for a couple of days from Nairobi to Mombasa, check out the coast as well for another maybe 2/3 days and then go back to Nairobi by train or the other way round. But if you have a better idea I´m fine with that, too.

If you are interested to join me, leave a comment or inbox me,

lots of love,
Julia

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but March 2013 might not be the best time for travelling round the country as the election is scheduled for the 4th and much as no-one wants a repeat of the last post-election violence most people are not confident the election will pass peacefully

Hey, I already know that, but that´s the time I´ll be there and I won´t have the chance to come back so soon. That´s why I don´t want to just go there and see where I get, but plan the trip before. I don´t think struggles will be much happening in the national parks, do you...?

No I wouldn't expect there to be any disturbances in the parks

Doffcocker is right, but you may experience delays traveling in and out of Nairobi if there is unrest. The same goes for the strategic highways that lead to the main towns of Central, Rift Valley, Coast, Western, etc. This is because demonstrators get more public exposure if they gather on roads.

By all means make your trip, but be mentally prepared (for lack of a better way to put it) for some disruption to your schedule. Don't shave your transfer times too finely.

Airlines should still be flying, but KLM has a policy of not flying into troubled areas. In 2008 they briefly suspended their flights to Nairobi.

PS. I survived the election unrest of 2008!
