from Sihanoukville to Ho Chi Minch
Hi all,after New Year celebration in Sihanoukville we need to go to Ho Chi Minch for flight back home to Europe. We are departing from Ho Chi Minh aeroport at 5th January in the morning. Planing to leave Sihanoukville at 2th January, so we have few days for journey. I think the best way to cross the border is Ha Tien. What is the best way to go from Ha Tien to Ho Chi Minch? Shoud we go straight or stop to spend the night somewhere in Rach Gia or near Go Cong. I mean is there any nice place worth to stop for night and spend a day? Or shoud we go straight to Ho Chi Minh, find a hotel here and just explore the city?

Can Tho is worth a stop en route to HCMC, a good river front and a decent boat trip around the various morning markets is on offer. I'd give Rach Gia a miss. Vinh Long is ok with boat trips available out into the delta. Alternatively you can go to Phu Quoc island for a couple of days.6
We were told, there was 2 days to the next bus to Ha Tien, so had to take a private "taxi".Maybe we were scammed, but check when the buses go from Sihanoukville to Ha Tien anyway.
You will still have to walk over the border and find some moto taxies on the Vietnamese side.
Most buses from Sihanoukville, go to Phnom Penh.
