Train to Prague on Christmas Day?

Hello-
I have found info. that suggests that I will be able to take a train from Nuremberg to Prague on December 25, but I'm not able to get confirmation of that from the Czech or German train websites. Can anyone confirm that?
Thanks.

Hi....

The new timetable(s) don't start until December 9th. That's why you can't find confirmation yet.

Can anyone confirm that?

The train schedules from late December aren't known yet. The winter train schedule will start to be in force in Dec. 9th. By that date, you'll be able to know if that train is running this year. You can be able to know it earlier but it's difficult to tell you how early as not all railways companies upload the railway schedule at the same time. I would suggest to stay tunned to the webs you are already reading to see when they upload the new schedule.

Also, watch out, they seem to be running a rail-bus on this route, instead of a train. Not sure whether it's temporary or permanent, but it's come up in a lot of my searches on bahn.de for months...

Yes, I saw that, thanks.
Even if the trip is longer (within reason), we prefer taking a train the whole way rather than changing to a bus.

There is no direct train connection between Nurnberg and Prague however the bus service, run by Deutsche Bahn runs an effficient if slightly boring bus route between the two cities, picking you up outside the main station in Nurnburg and dropping you outside Prague's main station. Also be aware that xmas day for most people in the Czech Republic (and I think Germany) is the 24th of December, not the 25th. As people have mentioned, you'll have to wait until the 9th of December to know for sure.

yes it is a bus service, never used it but friends have several times, very nice comfortable bus, and as Jeremy says stops right outside the main train station in Prague.

There are even electric sockets so you can charge your phone/computer on the journey.

What happened to the train, anyway? I caught one between those two cities back in 1996...
