Do We Need a Hotel Reservation in Nurnberg/Nuremberg in December?Hello-
My mom and I would like to mosey our way from Germany to the Czech Republic to Slovenia in December around Christmas. If we arrived in Nurnberg/Nuremberg on a random night (probably on or around Dec. 23), could we easily find a nice hotel in the old town without a reservation?

1Are you bound by a strict budget? Do you have any medical problems, like you cannot walk stairs so you need a room on ground floor if there is no lift? If not, you'll find a room without booking ahead. It may need some looking around and you may have to pay more than you had planned, but the whole of Nürnberg won't be fully booked. The same is true for Dresden and Quedlinburg or Wernigerode.
However, I suggest looking at booking.com or hrs.de a few days before you arrive, if you find most places are booked, you can still reserve a room.

3There is a web site www.hrs.de or www.hrs.com which is the biggest hotel reservation site in Germany. You can cancel bookings until the evening of the arrival day without any costs...
